A unique event in France

In 2024, the Cannes Film Festival launched the Immersive Competition, an initiative highlighting immersive works that utilize technologies such as AR, VR, video projection, or other devices. These experiences aim to immerse the audience in alternative worlds and evoke unique emotions.

With nearly 5,000 visitors during its first editions in a 1,000 m² exhibition space, the festival attracts enthusiasts of immersive experiences and new technologies from around the world.

At the conclusion of the Immersive Competition, a ceremony is held during the Cannes Film Festival to award the prize for Best Immersive Work. This award is presented by an international jury composed of leading figures in cinema and immersive art.

A Look Back at the 2026 Edition

During this third edition of the Immersive Competition, we were on hand to provide a fleet of Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise headsets equipped with Bobo VR batteries to allow visitors to experience the selected works in the best possible conditions.

In addition, Stéphane Courgeon, President of Matts Digital, led a conference dedicated to the company’s LBE offering. He presented the products offered by Matts Digital to support these projects, such as the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise, the LFT Flight Case, and GGenies batteries, as well as related services, such as rental, on-site installation, and refurbished solutions.

The event featured immersive works in competition, as well as projects outside the competition and additional works. This diversity allows visitors todiscover different worlds, while offering many international artists the opportunity to present their projects.
